  • Cab noise

Has anyone with a cab had any luck with Dynamat or a similar sound proofing product? I’m looking into trying to eliminate some cab noise on my Max IV. Any Argo guys try something like this? Just wondering if it pays or do I keep wearing ear muffs on long rides.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

I tried dynomat and hushmat on my Argo and two custom machines. The noise reduction was minimal, so I think just going with ear plugs is the way to go.

Thanks Noel. I threw a welding blanket over the engine cowl and behind the rear seat for a test run. And hardly any difference. Thanks for the input.

What noise are you hearing, engine or driveline?
If it is driveline perhaps dampen the floor plan.
I realize you will have roll bar and soft top noise, trans noise should be minimal but clutch noise should be dampenable with a belt guard to some extent. So maybe try mat under floor boards and if your top is not directly behind rear seat something there

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Mostly engine noise. The cab is behind the rear seat. Even with a blanket over the engine cowl and behind the seat no difference.
