  • hard to pull throttle

not sure why my throttle lever on my max 2 21hp b and s vanguard is so hard to pull . cable moves easy unhooked . carb and governor link hookups are good . no springs missing , etc. just seems like the pressure from the governor is really strong ...even pushing the throttle butterfly thing by hand . should that big spring on the governor arm have some slack or be tight ? i have tried other throttle levers on machines and they seemed way easier . thanks for any guidlines .... johnboy va.

John if your cable has suddenly gotten hard to pull I'd assume rust or frayed cable, if it has been that way since engine change perhaps it is cable routing. If you like attempt to find a slackened route and try again. I have had a tight wire tie bind a cable as well as a tight bend in the routing.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

thanks jim ...i will give that a try . will pull the cable out of the housing and check for rust or frayed wires and check the routing . j.b.

one source online said to bypass governor just loosen the bolt on the governor arm that clamps on to the governor shaft sticking up out of the engine . then it's not affecting the carb linkages . any thoughts ? thanks again , j.b.
