I recently broke the throttle cable on my hustler, and I came up with a fix that works very well. Since I did not have a cable long enough, I used a length of steel cable and pushed it inside a small diameter steel brake line from an auto parts store. Where the cable needed to come up the control levers, I used the sleeve from a motorcycle clutch cable, and coupled the clutch sleeve to the brake line with a brass fitting fit over both ends. The brake line can be bent to fit your application. This has been working very well for me, and the resistance that the cable has is actually less than my original cable. Maybe this can help someone having a hard time finding a cable for their machine.
