  • Super Serious Swamping VIDEO Savannah Georgia

This is me my my son Mike, and my two little dogs going for a swamp ride in Savannah. My son Mike is visiting from Arizona and had never been in a 6x6 before. He 's not quite used to all the green in this area. When I rolled down into the Swamp he was not quite ready for the intense 6x6 action including a little wade in the swamp by his father. Hope you enjoy

I really enjoyed watching your latest amphib, adventure video in the Geogia swamps. Your swamp videos keep getting better and better! Keep em coming. We have these same swamp areas in Southern Lousiana. I live north about 400 miles from New Orleans ( Shreveport ),,but still,,there are plently of muddy, marshy and swampy low lands to ride on,that are not far from me. But these are a lot worse, and also, a lot more remote from what I,ve seen on your videos. Here we have swamps and bayous that have aligators. Though I,m sure you have worse areas too,, than what your shown, you just have not ventured out into them by yourself, or with others that are with you, for fear of getting stuck in "no mans land " I,ll be posting some of my swamp and bayou rides in the new future.

Dan, that is some serious 6 wheeling right there! Thanks for posting that up for us to see. It really shows what these great machines are capable of. In my opinion footage like that belongs on a promotional video for Recreatives Industries.

Thx Mudbug, actually since I live close to the coast and there is a combination of salt and fresh water I don't have to worry much about gators, they generally start about 30 miles inland in the ponds and swamp. Still Louisana would be alot of fun but I think I would want to go back there without at least three other aatvs in case of problems. I don't think we could be Like Doc in Canada and leave our machines out in the swamp for six weeks. I doubt that they would survive. Maybe sometime in the future we could organize a ride through one of the tamer swamps.

The coastal marsh is what made me want to get a 6-wheeler, me and a buddy went out hunting a place we had scouted just two weeks before. There had not been any rain the first time, and the sand was hard packed. Right before we went hunting, there was a hard rain, and the marsh was so soft. You could not even walk, we made it almost to the blind in a Polaris Sportsman 500 carrying my buddy and the decoys, and me and the dog walking. We were only about 500 yards off a road. On the way back, my buddy had to try and walk the four-wheeler out, and I was miserable, the skeeters were so thick you couldn't breathe with your mouth open, and I had fallen and gotten water in my waders which wouldn't stay up. I know how people die in the wilderness now, they just give up...

Then our guide shows up on a Polaris 6-wheeler, me and the dog jump on the back and it has no problem. So that is where I began thinking 6 wheels instead of 4.

Just wait and see how impressed you will be when you drive your 6x6 amphibious ATV. I suppose those 6x6 Polaris ATVs go through more mud than a 4 wheeler, but amphibious 6x6 ATVs put both of those vehicles to shame. Be sure to give us the full report when you take your machine for its first ride.

Dan, I have about 6-8 great ATV parks to ride in. These are about 75-125 miles from where I live in Shreveport, Lousiana. These places are 3,000-5,000 acreas big. There are many trails to ride on, and also lots of low lands that flood out after it rains a lot, making for great amphib riding!.

Its rained for about 6 weeks straight, off and on, where I,m talking about. The admission for these places charge about $10-$15 a person, and $10 for each 4-wheeler. River Run Atv park in Neches, TX is one of best ones I,ve heard of, thats close to me. Its also the most reasonable for charges. This place charges $5 a person for one day, and $10 a ATV for a one day pass. For 3 days its $10 a person and $15 for atv. RV,s pay $35 for the weekend or $20 per night. This place borders the Sabine River, and has lots of low lands that flood out when it rains. It has 28 miles of trails that are accessible for truck and tractors to pull you out, if you get stuck really bad. They recommend you don,t go out into the flooded bayous, that has lots of trees, because if you get stuck,,your on your own! :laugh

It seems that I need to be on vacation full time to take advantage of all the places to go. The place in Texas sounds like it would be great fun with three or four other aatv's to clown around with. The Video that doc submitted from canda with two other aatv's on the trail looks like the ultimate fun. It reminds me of the army with tanks on line,WHeeeeewww.I am hoping that some day I will get to ride or drive an Argo Avenger, To find out if they are as cool as they look. They just look cool.

That swamp grass looks pretty tough, do you do anything to stop it from winding up tight around your axles and damaging your axle seals?
Some of the stuff that I get tangled up in can get wound so tight on the axles that I have to cut it off.
                    Good vid, keep them coming.

The reeds didn't brother the axles at all but there were some plants in the water, not shown in the video that did wrap around the axles. I spent a lot of time pulling all that mess off. I usaully get a few plants around the axles but this time it was really bad.
