  • Making Your AATV Extra Water Tight

I was doing some thinking and I wanted to make my 6x6's extra water tight. First, I grease all my bearings with marine grease. Second, I use 3M strip calk to seal the bearing flanges against the body, which is excellent stuff and Recreatives Industries uses it on all the Maxes that they build today. And just one last extra measure to waterproof my machines I take some stuff called "Goop" and run a bead of that between my locking collar of the bearing and the axle just so no water or mud can get in there. The good thing about the Goop is that it wont harden very much like glue and if you need to take your locking collar off from your bearing it is not going to be very hard to do. I hope this helps everyone and if you're doing a restoration you might want to keep this in mind when reassembling your machine.
