I know ,its just the frustration and the money and this part and that part, why wont this fit ,where does that go,why is that moving,....I just have to stop and watch a couple of videos on here ,their good frustration medicine
I have had the same mental battle myself. I came from a quad background and got into AATV's last year. It is a frustrating excercise restoring an old machine. I am going through the same tribulations with my superchief. Everytime I get to take it for a ride though, it makes it all worth while. Glad to hear you are sticking to it. When your done you will have something that all of the quad riders will look at with amazement. Best of luck.
Famous last words: I swear honey... I am just going to change the tranny fluid. I won't tear this one apart...
i have some of the same feelings with mine
i traded it for what was my first atv and it ended up needing a new engine then engine issues and clutch issues and now chain issues
i've driven it one in 2 months since i got it and even then it almost tried to kill me
nevermind, Im crazy, I lost my mind for a little bit there,Im back im okay....
OHMANOHMANOHMAN
Is there ANYBODY in amphib land who hasn't been thereLOL I have the perfect cross sectional view of a number 2 shovel THROUGH the door of my shop from the max rebuild.Sometimes those tub parts just will not line up at all until you show them EXACTLY what is gonna happen to 'em if they don't start acting right and SOON.I think that the only casualty from the 950 build was the motor mount but that is another storywell any how I for one am sure glad you changed your mind.--Gregg

With me, it's a love/hate relationship. I LOVE playing with my Hustler so much, that I HATE to stop and take the time to adjust the chains, keep 'em lubed, properly keep the gas/oil mixed (mine has the Kohler), keep the tires properly inflated, the axles greased....you get the point.
I have an atv also. I just put gas in it and go. But you can't do that with these old machines. Unfortunately, they are much more temperamental and they need a little more lovin'. But in return, in my opinion, they are much more fun to play with. My favorite thing to say to the atv'ers when we come up to a large body of water to cross is, "Hey, see if ya'll can do this". It's great to see the look on their face. Sometimes they even get mad!
I'm glad to see you're hangin' in there with your machine. It's worth it!
I think every single member who has bought at least one used machine has been there. I can't go through what I,,, well,,, went through, if you want to check it out, it's here... http://www.6x6world.com/forums/attex...olf-295-a.html I FEEL YOUR PAIN. (I got the Forget-IT feeling, walked away, got mad it wasn't done so got back to it a few times.)
I was into ATVs, (still am?) and would like to say they were easier, but I raced and abused them. I maintained them, but still lots of work too. My 88 250X has been apart for a year, was finding one thing after another. Haven't finished it since I got the 6X6s, I'm close too, jeeze, I gotta get that out of the garage already

I have a friend at work that has a new Honda 420 4x4 and he has already replaced a front half shaft $279.This weekend he broke the rear axle, thats gonna really hurt ! LOL I have broken The front left axle twice and all that cost me was a little time and some welding. Was back in the saddle in just a few hours both times. Most of the stuff we break is not that expensive.
