I noticed on my Hustler aluminum gas tank that there is a leak, which I believe is coming from where it is welded. Does anyone know if there is any sort of thing (such as a sealer) that I could put on there that would stick to aluminum and be resistant to the gas? The aluminum is really thin and I wouldnt want to weld it because I'm afriad that it would burn right through and I am not very good at welding aluminum either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tank sealing
you can get this at most dirt bike shops It's called a tank bladder seal kit
It's a liquid you pour in the tank and coat the inside drain the rest out let dry 1 day and it's sealed be sure to take off the fuel valve before useing sealer
I used this on my ATC a few years ago and no leaks I think it's about $20.00

use this Q-Bond Adhesives Its called q-bond it works on everything. it comes with a black plastic powder and aluminum powder and ca glue. i use the aluminum powder for everything holds up to gas and heat. all u have to do is sand the area put some powder on and a drop or two of glue in 10 seconds it turns hard as a rock. I have fixed gas tanks, intakes, even patched a hole in an engine block. check it outIf you can't fly you might as well float...

732 silicon adhesive/sealer, i am thinking Dow Corning. Fixed a puncture in my gas tank with it. Never leaked again.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

There's an aircraft fuel tank sealant known under various names such as Chem Seal & Pro Seal. It's a 2 part rubbery putty that comes in different colors & thick & thin consistancies. It's obviously made for use with aluminum & is used on aircraft for more than just sealing fuel tanks. I call it a flexible JB Weld 'cause it's pretty versatile. There are also sloshing sealers available. Here's a link to a few.

I've bought that low temp rod before at the fair.. not used it yet. The guy demo'd it by filling in a hole in a pop can, so it does work on thin stuff. Not cheap if you have to buy a bundle of it though.
A bar of soap rubbed on a gas leak will seal and last quite a while, unless it gets washed off.To Invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk. (Thomas Edison)
