Thought I'd slap this in here. I use this free software to draft up all my major mods, like the hardtop I built out of wood. It allows you to draw to scale anything you want. You can use inches or meters. It also allows you to add in notations, plus after your done, you can print out a blueprint of your project to help you in construction. It's also super easy to learn to use!
Here's the link to it, and again, it offers a free download with nothing to buy, unless you want the pro version. Frankly, I have done all my drawings on the basic, so I see no need for the pro version.

    Google SketchUp

Hope this helps someone else out there who likes modding.

    Keep on Ridin!!!

Cool, never messed with a program like that. Thanks

I like how the pro version has a free unlimited 8 hrs of use. LOL

Well, I used it recently in drawing up my next project, a windshield frame, for which I plan on cutting some metal for this weekend.
I just thought others might find it as useful as I have.

Thanks for posting that. I have a little experience with autocad but I can't afford my one program, so this is a good alternative.

Its spelled Alibre, actually. It is a nice program. Alibre Design - the best choice for 3D CAD software. Powerful. Easy. Affordable.

Just a FYI on the Google Sketch. Just finished downloading it. For us behind-the-timers with dial-up, it takes 2 hours at 50.6K. Putzed alittle with the program and it seems easy enough. I have Autocad, TurboCad, and a few other design programs, but they are too complex and time-consuming for tinkering projects. Better suited for a real designer or engineer. Not me-the-putzer. I'm old-school drafting board and t-square educated. That's enough for me.
It's all just nuts and bolts.

Same Here Jeff t-boss, same here. That's why I like it, cause it's easy and fast. The draft of my windshield frame took an hour to do.
