  • Sealing Bearing Flanges

I've read the "How-to" on bearing replacement and Mike uses strip caulk to seal between the bearing flange and the tub. My Hustler originally used 1/8" thick neoprene between the flanges and tub. I bought the neoprene and the strip caulk, but can't decide which one to use (or both).

My question is, what do you guys recommend? Anyone tried the neoprene method?

    Thanks!

    Hey ES,

Never used the Neoprene...but I can vouch for the 3M strip caulk....going on 2 seasons with no leaks. Plus, the nice thing is that if you have to pull an axle, it cleans up really easy with solvents.
    Hammers should have warning labels.

Scott is absolutely right......3M strip caulk all the way! I don't use anything else on all of my amphibs. Recreatives uses it too......it is the best stuff out there for our applications.
