  • 6x6 non-amphibious ?

    Hi.

I was wondering if there were any non-amphibious 6x6 atvs.

On-line search engines don't provide much, unless you look up large military vehicles, or should expect to find amphibious types.

I don't mean atvs such as the Polaris Ranger 6x6 either.

I've seen perhaps one prototype of a 6 wheel drive on-amphib atv.

Basically it has 6 wheels either all with a suspension system or just the four corner tires and the center tires are like on an argo to terrajet.

If you look at just about all utvs. They get side or high centered stuck all the time. Now i've built 6 wheel oddesseys (buggies) and it's not easy to get stuck with them.

I wonder what a lager version would be like.

    Thanks.

Do you mean like a polaris ranger? or Polaris 6x6 Sportsman? or John Deere gator? Or are you talking only skid steer non amphib? Not 6x6 but there is Cushman Tracksters, WildCats by TerraTrack, and PasseParTout and others like that.

I found this at a party a few days ago. They probably aren't that difficult to come by.

        Hi and thanks.

Most will think about the military Duce and a Half style as a the basic definition of a six wheel drive non-amphib atv like vehicle.

As i mentioned above i was not referring to the polaris ranger 6x6 or big boss 6wd vehicles.

I did notice that BW6 made a similar machine but the center wheels were smaller.

Thinks of it this way. My idea is a non-amphibious or amphibious argo 6x6 each wheel has independent suspension to a regular atv.

I suppose the best description would be a terrajet with 6 wheels. Same steering as a terrajet.

I remember a video of some one that made a 6x6 ago with dual a-arm suspension on every wheel.

        Thanks.

There is a very nice atv called the bulldog mini truck that could be adapted for six wheels.

            Hi Mike

            Similar to:

The tires were a little closer to the body though and more ground clearance.

            Thanks.

            Something Like this:

Not as bouncy as the springer. However it rarely gets high centered.

Cobalt, evil8x8 is just pointing out that two of the three you poseted are still amphibious. These are what we are referring to when we say Springers. Use the search here on the site with the term springer and you will find all of the info that you are looking for.
