I'm wondering if anyone has had success using vinyl wrap on hdpe, I have an old max iv I'd like to freshen up a bit, and that orange one that Andy keeps teasing us with got my gears turning. Thanks for any input.

Hi DW. I think a user named West Kentucky Max did one years ago. Looked great from his pics in the ga
llery. I'm doing a frame out on a 92 Max 4. Just got the frame back from powder coat. I.m going to try Camo clad Obsession on mine. Where hdpe is a little slippery I'm going to use a plastic adhesive promotor first. Then primer. Then the wrap. Hopefully I'll get it done before summer but life gets in the way. I think a vinyl wrap is fine for a car that stays on the road, but not so much for an off road vehicle that is going to require heavy clean up. I have done HDPE cleanup on several machines over the years just by using a heat gun. You just heat up the panel until the fading is replaced by fresh material. This is a simple technique that takes no materials other than the heat gun, but may take 2-3 hours time to accomplish.
