Max or Argo? Help me out

Well Let Me Start By Saying Good Luck With What Ever You Decide On Darrel, Im Not The Person To Ask But There Are Guys On Here That Will Steer You In Right Direction With Out Any Bull ,,i Own A Max Iv With A 25hp Aircooled Kohler Engine, 26 Inch Tires, Winch, And Plow,all Of Which I Havent Used Yet Except For A Few Hours And I Can Say That For Hunting There Great They Go In Places You Cant Walk To ,one Thing Is That The Max You Sit In The Very Front Of The Machine And Some Like That As They Say You Can See Better Than In A Argo Sitting In The Center,im Thinking Thats A Matter Of Opinion, I Have Heard That The Argo Is Less Bumpy Because Of The Seat Location, Im Thinking Tire Size And Air Pressure Whould Also Determined That, I Also Heard That The Max Is Truely 6 Wheek Drive And The Argo Is Not But Better Ask A Argo Guy That Question, The Reason I Purchased The Max Was Because It Was A Great Deal At The Time But Im Thinking Of Purchaseing An Argo Because I Just Want One Lol Lol ,im Just Hopeing That When I Die The Wife Doesnt Sell Them For What I Told Her I Payed For Them,, Good Luck ,, John From N.j.

I know two guys who were very opinionated, one an argo dealer, the other a max dealer. One day the argo dealer bought a max II to play with.. the max dealer added the argo line to his sales. One of my riding buddies traded his maxII for an argo frontier. I've got an argo 8 and would like to have a max II as a second vehicle.

Your best bet is come to a group ride or at least test drive both. Whatever you get, you may change your mind down the road and want something else. Your intended uses might suit a certain model.

There are a lot of differences between the two, and each has its strong point. Your choice should hinge on what you'd like to accomplish with the machine. Do you plan on using the AATV for simply recreational use, or do you plan on doing a lot of work/ hauling/towing with it? How many people do you plan on carrying? The MaxIV is a great machine, and I think you can now (or soon) get the 29 EFI Liquid cooled Kawasaki in it. Likewise, the Argo Avenger has an EFI option as well (drool...) but it's about 3 days longer than the Max IV.

I don't own either a Max (technically) or an Argo, so I can't speak from experience, but I've been in each. In my opinion, an incredible amount of R&D has gone into the new Argo line, and it appears to have paid off. That doesn't mean that the Max II or Max IV are any less capable, but the newer Argos are a bit more refined.

Not that I should even be talking about "refinement"...



The ultimate solution is to find a local dealer and try to test ride each. A dealer should be very ambitious about allowing you to test the machine in all sorts of terrain, and by the end of the ride(s), you'll have your answer...
