  • Heavy Cleaning of Chains and Sprockets

Spent the day dredging out the mud leafs and debris left behind from previous owner, I'm sorry to say he left it in a real state of repair. The power washing and elbow grease has left it very clean, now comes the discovery and rehab of the left over rust on the chains and sprockets. OK I read the threads and it helped some, is there a rule of thumb on when to go crazy removing and rehabing the rusted mess, or should I put the floor covers back on and sell it. I used a Rhino line spray on to hit the pans (after cleaning and sanding) some navel gel on chains, sprockets and axles, the gel was not a good fix. I soak and brushed liberal amounts of marvel oil, will see what it looks like in the am. If someone wants to comment on there success storys this nebee is all ears.

    Thanks, Mark

    Marvel Oil

So a night under the soaking of Marvel oil and the drive line chains and sprockets look pretty good. The one thing that I have going for me is this 6x6 was "road hard and hung up wet to dry". But the brake cable was out of service with a couple other can't drive until fixed things, so the guy I bought it from was not able to continue to drive and abuse while it was full of debris.
