Same here, glad that everything was ok for your max in the end. I just hate that there are so many that aren't as lucky as you

Yeah, thats for sure. Somehow I don't know anyone yet who has had a serious loss but, when I go back to work (which was near the neighborhood worst hit) it's likely I will.

Fortunately there are alot of people here that are willing to try to help w/ benefit concerts, donations, even just letting someone take a shower since a lot of places still don't have water. From what I can tell, SD has/will fare a lot better than New Orleans.

I do really appreciate everyone's concern for me and everyone else out here.

Just heard from Gina. She and her family are ok! She said that 5 houses on her street were burned to the ground but hers was spared although the fires made it within 5-10 feet of the house. Their front and back yard were burned but somehow the fire went completely around the house.

            That is great news!

I'm glad to hear that Gina is okay! I saw her place on friday w/ some burn marks on the side of her fence and everything in tact but, she hasn't replied to my email yet. Today I had to get my machine for the final DMV/CHP inspection and learned that my landlord's place was saved by a farmer that had his field plowed under and I got to see some more of a burned out canyon that's on a road that we usually take home from there. The whole town still has a lot of fire fighters patrolling for hot spots and there are reports of Santa Ana winds returning this weekend so, we may not be out of the woods entirely yet.
