  • Jacking up your machine!

Does anyone use a table top style jack for lifting their machine? If so did you make it yourself, and do you have any plans?

I jack my Argo up and use jack stands to drive my chains for lubrication and greasing but it takes a while and seems a little unstable at times.

Any other cost or time saving ideas would be great.

    Happy Holidays one and all....

i had a 8"x8"x8' wood post laying around. cut it into (4) 2' lengths. use a floor jack to lift one end of the machine. slide one under each chain channel. around to the other end and do the same. the wood blocks support the machine over more surface... jack stands put a lot of pressure on one spot. the wood blocks also stack out of the way or outside. i only use these if it will be on blocks for a while. otherwise i use a palet jack. you can usually pick up a used one for about $100. they are really handy for moving multiple machines around inside the shop.
