  • Custom modifications?

Kinda bored tonight, havn't seen this topic so maybe we can all give each other ideas. Big or small, toss 'em out there.

I have 2. After unintentionally bruisin my best buds wifes ribs while she was ridin in the back, I figured there ought to be some kind of a pad for the backseat riders. A pool noodle, a razor knife, some black duct tape, and about 20 minutes I came up with this. Not a great picture, but you can see it.

Well that one was kind of small. I like this mod a little better. Where we ride there is a creek that is sometimes 6 inches deep and sometimes 15 feet. It is very rocky/loggy in spots and you have to ride through a good deal of trails to get to it. I wanted an outboard just to get me through the water, but I also wanted it to be travel worthy and not get hung up or break if It ran into a log in a shallow spot.

After buying a 40lb electric I ran the wires with a quick disconnct, and then custom made a mount that pivots. I also got a push hitch. Hopefully by following the pictures you can see how it works. It clicks in and is semi protected by the hitch when i raise it up for the trails, then i just turn a knob, drop it down 6 inches in to push hitch grooves and you are ready to go swimmin.

Well there ya go, let's see yours.

That's a very nice creative "quick" mod on the seat.

That's using the old noodle! Used the same thing at work for something similar. They worked and were very inexpensive. Good idea Derek!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Lewis takes such good care of his Argo. He Armorall's the heck out of his back seats & it'll land you in the tub faster than a speeding bullet. I think he meant to do that.

derekhonda;...............That's what I like. Cheap, simple, and effective. Yet doesn't degrade the "Look" of your ride. Nice Job.
It's all just nuts and bolts.

Got to keep those seats treated so the water will not rot them, but i have been accused of that before
