6x6 vs 8x8

Now as I own a 6x6 I am of course thinking the size is the advantage. Is an 8x8 better to have as I do have oportunity to get an old Argo for a song (and I cannot carry a tune if it had a handle) so I wanted to hear from experienced fellows.

I'd say buy, it have fun restoring it ,and have a blast owning 2 machines! A lot of the people on the board own 3 or more different machines. This hobby can become addictive if your not careful!.

I,m sure you will get a lot of responce to your post,,so I,ll add mine .
This question has been asked on both Route 6x6 , and also on this forum as well , many times.

From the postings I,ve read ,from the people who have rode or owned both , a 6-wheeler and a 8-wheeler , the differences are :

1. An 8-wheeler is said to ride more comfortable over rough terrain because of the longer body ,and where you sit over the axles .

2: An 8-wheeler feels safer and is safer climbing steep hills , because you are closer to the middle of the tub. I,ve watched Roger on video , climb some very steep hils in his Argo responcel , that others would not even attempt to climb ,shaking their heads .

3: Carries more people and more load.

4: You can carry more people with you in an 8-wheeler, and maybe convert some of your non amphibious friends ?

5: A 6-wheeler is more suited for tighter trail riding , because the shorter tub makes turning around trees easier.

It would be good to own both , because each one has certain advantages over the other .

If you can get it for a song and do not want it I would be happy to buy it. I will even let you try it out at my cottage some time.
