Hooked mine through key, makes it real easy to stay on service schedule. Oil change every 25hrs, trans fluid every 50 hrs... I like the oil pressure idea, mine doesn't have one
DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION
That is awesome!!! Great Idea, no more excuses of the kids leaving the key on for months while it was on the trickle charger and racked up the hrs.
Hr meter is a great investment when you use it for preventative maintenance. I don't have one on any of my running machines though.
One of the reasons I created the Poll with several questions about the meters (I still don't know what happened to it though, I saw it once) is because I keep hearing the excuse being given that the kids played with it or the key was left on etc. It's an excuse that is getting old to me because I hear it so often. I hear it at equipment auctions so much that it even has become a standing joke with some of the auctioneers. You can power clean equipment and paint it pretty to the point of where it is possible deception. When I saw the post about the Argo for sale with 3000 hours on the meter, I really had to ask the question of how truthful the excuse was. With auction tractors there is sometimes a little different angle, "the hour meter or proof meter is broken but it's been used only a little since it quit working". I find them disconnected, well hidden some place back in the wire harness.
Oh well, that's why the meaning of the property law doctrine, Caveat Emptor -"Let the buyer beware", is so important.
