  • cheap body ban angle

    Fyi:
I saw some bed rails outside this second hand shop and though they would work for making the body band around my hustler. I ask the guy if he had old ones that he wanted to sale cheap. He brought me in the back and told me to take what i wanted from the pile of them in the corner. They were the ones that were missing pieces etc... I gave the guy 5 bucks anyway and walked out with enough to do 3 hustlers. Just though i would share that little resource with everyone.

Good idea! I never though to use the angle iron from old bed rails.......it certainly is a much cheaper alternative than going out and buying new steel. Thanks for the tip.

WOW GENIUS! Can't tell you how many old (but brand new never used) bed frames I have tried to sell at garage sales (could not even give them away). Now I have a use for them! Even if I just use them to experiment with and test my welding skills its a great idea.

Its a great idea but you may have 1 problem (drilling holes in them).. most bed rails are made of spring steel.. Been down that road.. try drilling a hole in them first and then you can be sure..

I have drilled a few holes in them already with the drill press but not with the hand drill. It was a little difficult to pop a hole in it. Guess i should have waited till the Fall to get the rails! lol, bad joke.
