i was wondering if anyone here owned or worked at or remembers a 6x6 dealer on route 28 between brookville and new bethlehem pa. in the 70's. my mum and dad's bunch were from the brookville ,sigel area we were home visiting and myself brother and three cousins headed down to nebe dragstrip, i fronted the money and we talked my cousin into running his van a '66 ford econoline straight 6 three on the tree pure race baby!!! anyways on the way there we stopped at this dealership could have been close to a wye in the road just so long ago 1976? guessing? (i was 16 i think) and the five of us got out just looking around . the owner/? talked to us for a minute then saided well let me show you what they'll do !!! i noticed an odd looking one parked along the demo he was getting ready to fire up what i remember now was a springer" thats my racer" my reply as i fell back on my bike racing knowledge '71 penton six day 125 "does it run pretty good" that racers grin showed through " yeah it does all right " then he took each one of us nitwits for a demo ride what a blast ! that was my first experience in a 6x6 and i never have forgotten it. and some 34 years later i would just like to say again thank you that was a day to remember. oh by the way the van turned a 15.55 in the 1/8th ? had to ride back with it in shoe polish on the windshield .tim/spud9

HEEYYY!!! i know this one. and the guy still sells max's.. Richs outdoor world. He has a Max2 up on the roof. had a max4 inside for the longest time. i was there a week ago with a friend gettin some hunting stuff. i live 20 mins (on a good day) from that shop. He's mainly boat/clothing/hunting/fishing related. its in "Summerville" Down by the brick yard. he USED to be Right outside of hawthorne back in on the right hand side..but his business got bigger and he moved locations..
Do you recall seeing the "Phone booth with the blow up doll in it" ? its just outside of summerville on the brookvile end of town.. He's RIGHT before that.
Yah..anyhow, get on MaxATV's website, and goto dealer locator, click on PA and then look up hsi number. One of the posted numbers works, the other one doesnt.
HOpe this helps.

With the age frame in mind you speak of...this may either be his father, or he may have bought the business...cuz this guy is about your age i would say.. So i'd call and see what info you can dig up. lol As for the S-turns on 66..yah...been there and done that.. Earliest memory is of the Hill that the train bridge is near..its a BIG long hill..well..it was middle of night, frozen and iced over, i was a tiny little squirt..we we're in a ram charger. my parents we're going to camp wich is in portland mills, dad crested the hill at about 65mph and traffic was at a stand still. lol..needless to say, dad drove that thing down the Bank the whole way down till he passed them all up and we got back on the road..still doing 65. lol I'd have to say his awesome handling and quick thinking was due to the case of PBR he had managed to get into his system after he left work/before we left for camp. lol
but anyhow, your welcome spud! Keep in touch!I have officially caught the 6-wheel-sickness!!
