How big of winch is too big. I have a warn winch that came off from a crain hoist. Being a vertical lift winch the rating is 3000lbs. But it looks a lot bigger than any 3000lb straight line winch I have ever seen. It probably weighs 50lbs and is 18" wide. Will this be too heavy to mount on a body band? I'm afraid it might do damage to the body when bouncing through the woods. What do you guys think? winch.jpg
For your Attex? It's too big. Sell it to an argo 8 owner who drools over that huge spool of wire, and has all the steel reinforcement of the argo brackets.

I run a warn works 4700 on my bigfoot (its about 40 lbs). The previous owner had it mounted to a reciever and that to a poorly made top/bodyband. It was out in front a good ways and created a lot of leverage on it. It eventually broke some welds just from driving down the road and flexing the bodyband. I had to rework top/bodyband and got it tucked in where the factory argo winch sits. Even then I wasn't happy with the strength and added two more braces back to the top. Now its tough as nails and I have no fear of it breaking. I would be extremely concerned just mounting to the body band, especially with that heavy of a winch. A steel body band would be probably ok, but thats my opinion, I like super strong.
