which one are you using so I know what one to pickup. I actually just bought this from a guy in cicero but I think i paid way too much. New rims and tires did not make it a 1900 dollar machine but i learned my lesson. Now that I know about these forums when I start looking for a dead maxIV (which is what I really want) I'll make sure I check all the problem area's. I have a fresh build motor for that when I find one also it's a yamaha vmaxx 600 motor and it's ready to be loaded into something.

Mine is so old they don't make it anymore but this is what replaced it: Plastic Welding Kit with Adjustable Temperature.

No feed tube. You manually apply the filler rod like in TIG welding. I was contemplating making one. The guy I got my Max from out near Verona Beach had an old one with the tube and said it was a lot faster. He said he used to build commercial plastic tanks with it. Once you get a feel for it though, it's pretty easy.

lol i'm about 3 mins from verona beach and I never knew there was one for sale there. I am having an issue getting my fuel pump to work but i hooked up an electric one just for a trial and that thing runs perfect. Once i get it running i am grabbing the gps and seeing my top speed.

well my friend the 340 I pulled needs carb work (it was flooding out), but it is complete and was rebuilt about 7 years ago (what I was told). It has good compression and ran like a top once I got it running. It was flooding out while trying to start it so it took forever to get it running but once it was started it ran awesome and idled fine. The cluth on it also works very well, I am willing to part with it but have no idea what it's worth. Since you are a local guy i'd give you a good deal. Can I get some of the other guys to chime in here and let me know what my motor is worth.

i do have a starter for it I was going to use it on the phazer motor but it's a little different so I am just going to buy one for 80 bucks. It's a rockwell 340 with a single carb, I believe it's the original engine from the factory from back in 1978.

i might take you up on that. I am polishing a couple of rims for my golf(i'm a mkIII vw guy) and I want the sides of the spokes and the inbetween the spokes on the barrels powdercoated. I also need 4 calipers that I have pulled apart powdercoated as well so maybe we can just do an even trade.
