My young family is very outdoorsy, and we love just being adventurous, and pretty much hate city life. Bad thing is, i'm a Computer engineer, and im forced to work around metropolitan areas. I hate city people, and really hate working FOR city people, but It's a fair trade off since the pay is pretty good. It's enough to let the wife do the "stay-at-home-mom" thing, and homeschool the girls (3 of them). As much as I love the south, i'd move north just for the seclusion.

My best friend has a cabin totally off the grid in Missouri. Creek in the yard for water (which makes the best coffee you've EVER had). Has no shower, no electricity, no TV, no issues, and no worries. It's freeking awesome up there. Your cabin, and story reminds me of getting to his place.

You have arrived my friend. You have it MADE!
    Thanks Waylonh
Although I'm not about to tell anyone to go ahead and uproot their family, I would like to point out that there are Computer Engineers needed everywhere, even in/around such small comunities as I live in. Think about it and look around, you might just stumble upon something that catches your eye.

The company I work for has at least one located here. I don't know if his title is actually "Computer Engineer", but he does all computer upgrades, repairs, programing, ect.

    Cheers
