I'm about to buy a new winch for my argo avenger. Can somebody tell me about the bronco winch vs viper winch? Are there any bad issues about them

I seem to remember a thread about Viper winches a month or two ago, if I remember correctly they're pretty much a copy of a Warn winch. Never heard of a Bronco winch.

IMO don't skimp on the winch. It can be a lifesaver. You get what you pay for.

I have a rebadged 4k Viper on my Argo. I have not beat on it yet, but it seems to be of decent quality.

I have Promark winches on my machines. They can be found for a very good price on ebay, and have never let me down. I have owned a 2500lb, 3000lb, and a 10000lb, and am very happy with them. The 3000lb doesn't struggle at all to pull my hustler out of the mud.
If you do look into these, get either the XT, or the XTR model, stay away from the "trail series" because they have a very slow pull speed. The only difference between the XT and the XTR is a steel cable, or synthetic cable, other than that they are the same winch.
I don't want to go fast, I just want to go anywhere.
