  • Sad day for the aatv community

I just saw on one of the local forums I frequent that Bill Fischer of Pine Lake Raceway,Ashtabula,Oh has passed away. It is stated that he passed in his sleep last evening. I'll try to put up a link related to this matter. Bill will be missed very much. My sympathies to Bud and the rest of the Fischer family.

My only conversation with Bill was brief but very pleasant.

Sorry to hear of Bill passing. My condolences to Bud and the rest of the Fischer family.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

I thought I read something about this in another thread and Dad confirmed w/ My Aunt over the weekend.

Condolences to the Fischer family as well.

Also found another interesting write up on Bill, seems like he was a pretty big part of the community in other ways:

2006 was the last time my son raced the national atv t.t. series at pine lake.(month later i ruined his 11 year racing career by having a hand full of heart attacks) mr.fisher was doing his usual thing grading and watering the pit roads. then the rains started, they are dirt master minds, they rolled and sealed the track up before the heavy stuff came. it rained so much the bowl was full of water. next day sun the bowl was drained, by the end of the day dust and you could bark your tires on the blue groove.many, many great memories of the fishers and great stories of BILL, he was a trip, driving around in his old chevy truck. we got to stay a couple extra days one year with other racing friends and bill opened up the whole place to us all,if we needed anything just ask. that same year i talked to bud about racing 6x6's there showed him some pictures i had got from the route page he said he had the most laps of anyone going around that track. great memories of our years at the lake thank you fisher family and thank you BILL. your loss is shared by all of us.
