They probably work well... but the price is too high. You could do the same thing with a $60 winch in the verticle position, a good ten wraps of cable on the drum and anchored at each side of the back of the blade.

i thought about that as i have a old 1500 lb superwinch layin around but id be plowing against my winch motor, this thing has a braking system once u position it and stop that isolates plow force from motor.was comparing price to adding small hydrolic pump and cylinders, probably works out about the same and this way no high pressure hydrolic lines from motor to plow just wire.if it lasted 4 or 5 years would be worth the money to me.my drive way isnt one strait run, lots of dead end parking and buildings to plow around.i need a reliable power angle solution.

I was going to try an electric actuator. They work like a hydrolic ram but are electric and don't use any fluid. They are not very big and are getting cheaper. Not sure if the cold would effect them. And not sure what effect slaming into banks of snow would have on them.

i thought about doing a spring loaded pin with a choke cable to raise it,drive into snowbank to angle and pin springs back once angled hole position is lined up...might be a pain in the ass but very cheap, strong and i wouldn't have to get in and out. the electric actuators or beemans inverted cheapo winch idea might work well with cable lift pin, eliminating plow force on actuator or winch.
