  • driving on pwer line easments or railroad track easments

I recently moved and right by my house is an abondoned gun range that I used to go to with my dad as a child.I walked the property found 3 deer heads many trails pond etc, right along this property is railroad tracks which I walked for 3 miles.Well I looked up the property owner and its detroit edison.I called macomb twonship asking about the trails and they just said its private property and if the owner dont care then they doent.Anybody have any experience with going offroading on this type of property. The land is the old maple grove gun club at 21 mile road and fairchild in macomb township mich.

I would make sure you are legal to ride in your state and then go for it if there are no no trespassing signs. I always figure the worst they can do then is tell you not to come back and post up some signs, but I always avoid running into people when off my property and on the power line trails. They cant tell you not to come back if you turn the other way when you see them. Maybe even try offering a ride if you do get too close accidentally. You never know maybe a 6x6 was their dream toy when they were younger.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

A lot of the "infrastructure" here in the states now falls under the jurisdiction of the Dept. of Homeland Security aka people with zero sense of humor.
In other words, dont get caught.
I'm 2 hours away, but you can come over here and ride.

Yes It seems that 15 feet on each side of the tracks belongs to grand trunk railroad and its illegal to walk or ride on the tracks verbal warning or $100 fine if your tearing up railroad property like the gravel around the ties and rails then thats a major problem.I did not see any no tresspassing signs anywhere on the detroit edison property.I still dont understand why there would be 3 or 4 dear heads in a pile and some rotting carcasses that seemed to be dumped off,My scrambler is not the fastest vehicle but with all the liquor bottles laying around I think I am more leary of running into idiots than law enforcement.I might give it a shot this weekend. The way this winter is going I may never be able to take my scrambler on lake st clair. Thanks For the offer jim

Tell you what... you can come up here and ride with me in West Branch on my property and the St. Helen motorsports area ANY TIME YOU WANT! You've just got to get me on some geese fields down there for the late hunt in January! Seriously though, I'd pry do it. If you want to help all involved and increase your chances of getting off the hook, pick up some of the trash you see when out there, and you'll kill 3 birds... help the landowner, teach your kids a lesson and get out of a ticket (pry) if they're watching. Hit me up if ever up north riding. And especially if you're a waterfowler!!!
