I've been looking at Argo Avengers and Frontiers for hunting and the price a bit too much but have found a fairly decent shape 2007 MAx4 ,27 HP ,heated throttle,Winch with 70 hours for $5000, is this a good deal or should I wait til I can afford the newer Avenger. I want it to play aruond with and also to hunt some wetland areas. How do they compare wheeled /tracked. Has anyone owned a Max 4 who now runs a newer Argo 8x8 or 6x6 with admiral and non admiral transmissions?

I'd go for the Max if I were you. The 27 HP Kawasaki with the T-20 transmission is an excellent combination. Plus that's a really great deal on the Max, and you won't lose nearly as much in depreciation as compared to buying a new Argo.

That is a great price on that Max IV if it is in good shape. That vehicle would be a great introduction into AATVs, and you can always sell it and upgrade later if you decide that an 8x8 is better suited to your application.
