a wheel winch?

hey guys, I just stumbled across this, doesnt seem like that bad of an idea except for when you are stuck...you dont exactly have access to your wheels! check it out...I dont know how much it is, but may not be bad

That's actually a self-recovery method we used in my service days back in the early 80's. Used to use the "Duals" on trucks as a big pulley to wind the ropes or cables for that exact purpose. Worked vry well.

yea I think I remember hearing someone talking about it at one time or another. Seems like a pretty slick set up and wonder how it would work on an aatv, but with that plate being on the wheel, mud and all kinds of crap would get caught in it

im sure in a pinch you could probably do the same thing though by looping a strap around your front time and around a tree and pull enough to get you out, as long as your front tires are accessable

Its a cool idea but not sure I would choose it over a conventional harbor freight winch. Half the time we are stuck in over our wheels. But the up the tree and zip line stuff was cool!

I can see the recreative promotional video now! Haha got a max hangin from a tree with a guy dressed in full camo deer hunting haha! They will go anywhere, even up in the trees!

I think I've read of something like that used on Jeeps. looks like a cool idea.
