I'm sorry I don't still have any pictures of mine. I tried the atv gun racks and mount both on front hood area and rear I also tried hard cases on front and side non of these worked for me between the trees vines and mud those just where not good locations (would have worked in open country) what I ended up using was the stand up type you buy to go in a truck and mounted them to the rear of the drivers seat facing up unfortunately there was already very little room for passenger feet and with the guns there was not really any room oh well they just hang feet over the back ...lol that setup worked good for regular scoped rifles like my 338 and 300 also for shotguns the only thing I had trouble with was the ar-15's with the scopes (without scopes fit fine)

I carry a 357 security 6 at all times! My Max can carry two additional long guns. No way would I be caught without a weapon! If one person in Micky DS would have had a hand gun, many incident people might be alive today! If you guys are old enough to remember the incident?

Ah, yeah. The gun rack; not the guns; the guns end up flying about. (you overthunk what I said ) Been bonked on the head, caught rifles that slide out halfway...
Except for scratching and bruising on the outside of the guns I can't say as it's had any effect on their precision.

With what? I take along a Marlin 30-30 sometimes (usually a 45. auto) but would think something like 45-70 would be a little more appropriate in your neck of the woods.

In that particular case I had one of my .300 Win Mags, although I do have quite a # of options. My wife used to insist that once the rifles were spilling out of the 21 gun rack that I had enough. I made a point of proving her wrong, lol. I also seem to have run out of room in my handgun locker. Not sure if I should get another one or a just a bigger one.
Love my 45-70 Trapper, and I have a Win 30-30 Golden Spike Centenial in it's original box, never been fired. My latest toy is a Chiapa "Mares Leg" in .45 LC.

that's looks alright but is the case water tight if you were to dip your front end into some water?

This is a plastic case I used for the testing phase.....I have an aluminum one getting powder coated as we speak....It is water and air tight....and it locks...

Here are some pics of the mounting option I chose to build....I like to have my rifle were I can see it while driving...I wanted a hard case for protection...In Colorado laws state on UTV's and ATV's the rifle must be in a case and unloaded....This option gave me the most useful placement and is still protected from the elements.....

Aaah. a gun rack. Why didn't I think of that? HA! No bears in the hoosier state but did have a tree make a run at me in the dark as I passed it one night out in search of racoon. Luckily the two inches of barrel hanging out the side of the Argo stopped it's charge but let me with 2 halves of a perfectly good rifle. ( o ya, and the zero was off a bit too) Thanks to anyone who submitted mounting pics!

I have something very similar to this in my top. I don't use it. Too far from any center of rotation so it sees a lot of extreme motion.

More extreme than pulling the trigger? Now I fully admit to NOT knowing the extent of the forces generated by pulling the trigger on a high powered rifle, but would have a hard time believing that the forces a rifle will experience strapped to the roof of an Argo would even come close to the forces generated by pulling the trigger. This is not a slam on you John, I'm just curious how you came to this conclusion. I carry my rifles in my Jetboat all the time, and they are subject to all the boats impacts with logs, boulders, ginormouse waves, ect. I have never damaged a rifle yet, to my knowledge.
