You know I wasn't sure about the tires . The guys I have spoke with said that they clean better this way.

In my tractor owning and operating experience, they are on the right way for mud and to keep clean.
This direction allows for short lived buy better traction to back out of what you just got stuck in.......
        But,
they load up fast the other direction, then, don't do much good.
The pressure against the tires forces the mud to the outside of the "v", helping clean them, in the pictured orientation and going forward.

I don't know about water, though........would it make that much difference?

Of course, this is using this type tire on tractors, and, until I (hopefully) get the Hustler I'm looking at, I may be off base.....

        your reslults may vary.....

        good luck

That is the way that they are made to go. They do clean better that way but for any tire with V tread in it, to get any water speed at all you will have to mount them the other way. My Rawhide IIIs would barely move in the water if I mounted them the other way but mount them backwards and they propel you along fine.

The other place that it will make a difference is in the mud. They don't clean as good mounted backwards but if you get in a deeper mud hole they will start to propel you like you were in the open water.

I wonder what would happen if a person mounted some each way, keeping left and right side balanced?

            Just a random thought.
