Picked up an 880. The guy I got if from said it needed a new sprocket and chain on the middle axle right side. The chain is the one that goes from the transmission, over another sprocket, and finally to the axle. There are 3 sprockets, on the sleeve, that don't seem to line up with the corresponding sprockets they are linked to. It seems that the whole sleeve and sprockets are about a quarter inch too far to the inside. It also seems that they drilled a new hole in the sleeve and axle, which apparently was put too far inward. Do you think that I can take the sleeve and axle out and re-drill a hole through both in a different spot? Or should I purchase a new sprocket sleeve and axle. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, you can redrill another hole in the sprocket tube. Make sure you start drilling the hole, then slide the axle into the sprocket tube and use the hole in the axle as a guide so your hole in the sprocket tube matches up with the hole in the axle when the drill bit comes through the other side. Or just buy the pair of Hustler 880 sprockets that 6X6World member AmphibiousDrew has, so that way you have a back up plan.

Word to the wise. Don't buy any parts from Shane Kearney in Taylorville, Illinois. He has commited fraud on several occasions that I am aware of. He may also have a couple of friends from the same area working on his behalf. I would be suspect of any amphib parts from Taylorville or the surrounding cities.
