  • gonna do it right

well been sitting out here in the gulf for a week now and Ive talked myself into stripping my 945hk all the way down and soda blasting the frame and going all through the bearings. figured if I am going to do it might as well do it right so 7 more days and I'm going home so ya'll wish me luck and if your in the mississippi area come on over the beer is on me

That's the best way to do it. Tear it down, paint the frame, new bearings, chain, fuel line, etc etc. It'll be like a brand new machine and reliable enough to take anywhere you want without having to always be worried about breaking down. Hustlers are GREAT machines and when you build them right, they're bulletproof.

To bad I'm not closer to Mississippi.
Hard to turn down free beverage! Your project shouldn't take long with the right quantity of said beverage.

Crap, that's about right. I was in Vidalia last year for months working on the levees and now this year there's free beer to be had!!!! I'm always a day late (more like a year in this case) and a dollar short. Good luck on the project though.

so I ordered 40ft' of #50 diamond chain while i have been out here and found in a guy in central LA that will HYDRO DIP the tub.. if you guys could point me in the right way for bearings that would be great. and have any of you used different rims on your hustlers I read I can run up to a 25 in tire on 945hk seems awful big for a shallow tub. anyway found another argo with a t 20 a guy is going to give me if I come pick it up out of the woods when I get home. so I will have a total of 1 huster 2 max II's and a argo

It's not an Argo if it has a T-20.......so it's going to be a surprise machine. I wonder what it'll be. Looking forward to seeing what it is, but if the price is right, grab it! As far as bearings go, you'll need "R3" triple lip seal outers with 1-3/16" ID and 62mm OD. They fit in a two piece stamped steel flange. The inners are 52mm OD, but not 100% sure of the ID. Call the guys at Buffalo Bearing and tell them you're with 6X6World and they'll take great care of you. (716) 874-1720. You can run 25" tires on a 945 or 950 Hustler. 25x12x9 tires will just clear the fenderwells without modifying the tub. I know of a few members that are running them on their machines.......and the big tires make the Hustler a VERY capable rig.

Most of us running 9" rims are using Mudd-Ox rims Contact Us | Mudd Ox 6 & 8 Wheeler Land & Water Machines Or send a PM to member MattO.

Use Matt's rims (Kawasaki K locks). They are great at holding the bead on even at extremely low PSI. Don't use Argo rims because they'll easily pop a bead on the trails.
