shifter linkage hits stuff

after installing my kohler kt17 in my hustler my f/rev shifter setup (the cable connects to the metal brace connected to the t-20) is hitting the head of the engine on the left side, has anyone else had this problem ? the only way I can see fixing it is running the cable on the front side but then it hits my floor boards for the rear seat.... any help? different cable set up? I can force it in but then theres a sharp bend in the the cable,that wont last long....

Kestian,are you still having this problem? Is there any way that you could get some pics up for us? It's kinda hard to visualize just what you are having trouble with. Specially for those of us that don't have the cable setup.
