  • Hustler's Maiden Voyage

Well I took the hustler for it's very short first ride this evening. I don't have the exhaust completely hooked up or the top back on yet, so it was more or less to make sure nothing major needed to be done before I put the top on. I knelt on the floor and drove a few circles in the yard.

The engine ran excellent and overall the machine drove, turned and braked good. During the minute or so I drove it there seemed to be a lot of throw in the sticks. I'm curious how much overall do the sticks move from the furthest point back to the farthest forward?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    T-20

Have you broke the T-20 down, Because it sounds like wore bands and/or drums.

I noticed a big difference in the lateral sticks from when I replaced the original tranny to a newer, freshly rebuilt one. The new one was nice and tight, and took very little movement to steer, where as the old one took a lot of movement to steer.

i think you should have around 7" of throw. sounds to me like the t20 needs some adjustments. here is a link on how to adjust it

Ok, thanks. The T20 is fresh, new bands, bearings, seals, fluid..the drums are the only thing that could be a little on the small side from cleaning them up. I adjusted it so the plunger levers were even on the top and bottom. I'll check them out again as well as the throw amount. Thanks.
