Hustler Battery and Location

Hello,

New to 6x6ers, just purchaced a 1982 Hustler 950 with 16hp kolher. The guy I got it from had a lawn mower battery in the rear floor board.

Wondering what is best type of battery and where i should mount it. Pics are a plus.

Hey Badcop, and welcome to the forum.

There should be a space for it under the right side of the front seat. I have a nEver-start lawn mower battery on my 950 and it does the job as long as I don't do a lot of winching and such. I am not sure about the Kohler but the charging system on my 18hp Briggs leaves something to be desired. Would love to have an auto-type alt. on it and will probably get around to that this fall after the weather cools off, we've been in the 99 to 100 degree range all week--yikes.
