Agree 100%. If you can hook up with a few other amphib riders and pick their brains and check out their various rigs it should GREATLY reduce your skittish attitude towards your new machine. These things are a lot of fun and it's a never-ending joy to see the look on people's faces when you come roaring out of the woods on something that to them is as foreign as a moon buggy - it gets even better when you blow past someone on a quad into water or through mud that they only WISH they could plow through.
But as Brushcutter said, these vehicles require a degree of respect and responsibility or you'll end up miserable sooner or later if you run it into the ground without routine preventitive maintenance. (Speaking here from experience. )
