Well I'm not getting my hopes up but, if the right collector with the passion to build one of the coolest six wheeler with the T-20 brought that machine back? Well... They need to hurry up!
-
I suspect he still has them and is just being his normal prick self and not wanting anyone to have access to them...Just my 2 cents worth.Originally posted by andylmusic76 View PostI called into Richard's Relics today and spoke with Mike. He told me that the original body molds for the Hustler were sold a long time ago and that he doesn't have a way of looking up who it was that bought them. Does anyone on the board here know who may have them?
Only an idiot would get rid of them.

I would totally get a 980 lower if it will fit my 900hk frame? Especially if it didn't have the seat cut out. I'd even pay to ship it to Alaska!!!
Black would be a good color but if you made them Yellow I'd have to get a top too!!

Has anyone thought of speaking to Richard about this? Due to my current location, a phone call or sit down with him is impossible. Maybe someone close to his location or even one of our "Veterans" on the site can make this happen, to talk business and the resulting cost of a finished product to be purchased?Originally posted by Lantz View PostIf Richard lets someone borrow the molds then he can get bodies molded as well and sell them for a profit. Just sayin that's the way I see it since he is apparently out of nos tops and bottoms.

I really would not expect Richard to loan out the molds unless he is getting paid..

Has anyone contacted Richard to see if he is going to let someone borrow the molds? It sounds like he is out of hustler tops and bottoms. I remember seeing in a thread some where that there is a member that works at a company that does vacuum molding. Surely there is a member that could get access to a vacuum molding machine. Just wondering I'd like to see this happen.

Yep, it's certainly not a Hustler 980. The Sidewinder is exactly like the 950 Hustler, just some different options and colors. It was made by Clay Ratcliffe in Evergreen Springs, Colorado. I believe he just bought the parts from Hustler and sold them under his Sidewinder name.

It sounds like you have a real Sidewinder, Dan... I think they're based on the 950 or a slightly lower model; certainly not a 980. There are some great shots of a Sidewinder in this thread...Originally posted by Dandahermit View PostMy problem is that I cant tell if my Hustler is a 950 or 980 It is all nos with the 18 hp briggs, says Sidewinder on the side,

My problem is that I cant tell if my Hustler is a 950 or 980 It is all nos with the 18 hp briggs, says Sidewinder on the side, has the 21x12x8 goodyear Rawhides on it and 271hrs on the Hobbs I need a measurement from the center of the axle to the top of the tub (the attachment line of the top and bottom) cause it looks like 26s would clear depending on the actual height of the Venom 26. None of the ATV tires I have are actually the stated height, The Goodyear 21s are barely 20 and my 25x12x9 ITP mudlites aren't totally 24!!! Please!!! Someone give me some numbers!! Dan

Your Hustler is probably a 950 if it has 21x11x8 Goodyear Rawhide tires. A 950 can't fit 26's on it, only a 980 can.......there's the tall and taller tub versions. The 950's maximum tire size that it can clear is 25".

Hey This looks like an old thread. Id go nuts for a 980 big foot bottom for 26inch wheels at that price !!!! I have a 950 I think or a 980 shallow tub I don't know how to tell and I definately want black bottom top n engine cover Could use a rear floor pan. I hope you are doing this cause I'm there!!!
