That air hammer might work, along with lots of penetrating oil. There might be enough clearance to get the tool in there with the flange removed. You might try to brace the axle somehow so it does not put too much lateral force on the inside bearing when hammering. Let me know if you try it!
How do you like the Honda?

Hey Jp, you and Bon ever wonder what that small raised portion of the body tub right under the rear seat brace is for? It is only on the right side and the factory added same extra square tubing just to raise the level of the seat brace to get both sides even...strange. Perhaps it was a design flaw.

        Hey Mein,

Don't know about the raised portion....

The Honda is great, seems to have plenty of power, starts and runs well. Sounds pretty good too. I have video now, but I lost my Sony camera software and had to order another CD...I hate proprietary software like that!
        Hammers should have warning labels.

Hey Mein, If you're talking about the 980 BIGFOOT tub, it might be a part to raise up the rear seat/engine cover because if it sat too low it would have hit on the exhaust duct. I believe that all of the 980 BIGFOOTs came with a flat twin Briggs I/C 18HP motor where the exhaust exited out of the side of the upper body and there was metal duct work that it went through. If the seat/ engine cover was too low it would have melted the plastic so I believe what you're talking about was Hustler's solution to this problem by raising the height that the seat/ engine cover sits.
