  • Hustler Parking Brake Disc

Can anyone tell me how the rotor/disc is installed on the axle? I don't see a set-screw or any signs of welding. I need to replace that axle but I can't get the disc to budge.

    Thanks

Mine was on a machined 1" portion of the shaft with a key. I removed the opposite side axle, then used a steel bar like a punch through the axle hole to drive the axle out of the disc.

Mine was on the driver side center axle and used a shaft key I didn't put it back on because if you high center the body the disk can cut the body while your trying to drive the 6x6 off what you got high centered on and it will cut it because the body will flex against the disk I dont have a parking brake right now I'm going to try to put max disks on the front two axles in the future , the other style had the brake disk mounted on the pass. side of the tranny it was a larger disk also.....

I had my 8" disc turned down to 7". About the diameter of the drive sprocket.
Oh, and the lower tub on my new Hustler was cut by the disc. And repaired by previous owner with tin, screws and Permatex.

Did you need to modify the brake system due to the smaller diameter disc?
