  • Dumb Hustler Question

I had a little time to mess with the hustler today and i'm having a little trouble figuring out where a few things go. i believe this is a 950 (18 hp flat twin Briggs). in the drivers left switch panel area, there is a hole for the amp gauge, and one for either the key switch, or the light switch (only those 2 holes). the wiring harness doesn't appear long enough for either the key or light switch to go anywhere else. the easy solution is to drill another hole, but i would rather not until i ask. also, where should the choke cable be mounted? I have looked all over the machine and can't find anywhere where it looks like it ever might have been??
    thanks guys

I was able to find a picture in some of my files. It's been hacked up a little, but maybe it will help with the choke cable location (the orange line). I have always made a cover plate out of stainless steel that fits inside the recess area, that way you put anything anywhere. I can't believe that I don't have a picture of that cover plate. I'm sure you get the idea.

cool, and thanks. that is what i was thinking from the last time i drove a hustler (been over a year since i've even seen one in person), but mine doesn't have a hole there. i'll go ahead and drill that and another hole for the headlight switch. i think i still have some really thin carbon fiber laying around that i can use to make a panel for that area

My Hustler 980 BIGFOOT also has the choke location in the same place that Duckhunt mentioned.
