That rear mounted tank almost looks stock. Thats a pretty cool machine you have there. If you go to "Gallery" on the top menu bar of the page, you can upload pictures and create your own album. I like doing this with old machines that I pick up so I can see what they look like before and after restoration. Whats next on the "to-do" list for your Sidewinder?

although its running right now and im tempted to just drive it for a couple weeks i think im gonna tear it down and give it a good onceover. gonna pull gas tank so i can remove rollbar and have the front crossmember rewelded in place, flush and strip tank and get new lines and filter, pull seats and mess of metal somebody added to support them, easy acsess now to clean and inspect chainbed and adjust sticks, gotta ditch the twist grip throttle and get a lever and new cable so can be routed properly, new winch and lights for mounts on rollbar ,power wash and get spray paint off body and last but certainly not least fab new seatpan and upolsery also thinking about a set of half tracks since they only need 1/2" spacers instead of the 5" needed for full track, thats 9" narrower gettin throgh the woods and fit it since the front wheels is spaced farther foward.she's home now!!!resting in a heated garage, check out the other side of my garage

          Thanks for the pics.
          Congrats on the new sidewinder.

I am in the process of moving my gas tank to the rear on my sidewinder. Does anyone have any thought on how close it an be or should be to the engine? I have a kohler aircooled engine. I really like were yours is located.

I have found some nice 3-4gallon tanks on ebay.

            Hey SRG,

Let us know if the power wash works getting the paint off, if you don't mind. I'm kinda curious... I bought some plastic paint stripper from FinishMaster, but have not been able to get up the gumption to go outside and strip paint. Power washing would be easier than messing with chemicals.

Scott, just a heads up, I tried some paint remover chemicals and they actaully "melt" the plastic.

                Hey JP,

Thanks for the heads up...had not tried this product yet, it is called "Bumper Stripper" and is specifically for plastic bumpers on cars.....but who knows with the HDPE.

I spent about a day with a nylon scrubber and Castrol Super Clean with minor progress, and then I figured out that I really didn't care too much right now about appearances.

                  Hey SRG,

Cool pics...I love the Vette, that body style is just plain sexy with a slick paint job.

As far as homebrew camo paint jobs, that one doesn't look too bad....If you get those tracks, I will be all ears as to how they work. I also like those seats...how do you feel about them compared to stock?

Hey srg, that looks great!!! Was there a lot of hard scrubbing involved or did it come off easily? I bet that machine will look like it just rolled off the assembly line when you're done! KKeep us updated on the progress.

I like the work so far. It looks like you and I may need to start our "sidewinder" forum section...

I just posted a few more of mine.
