Finding a power rating on the 'Cat 400 is a bit tough on-line. A lot of manufacturers purposefully don't list a power rating on their machines for insurance reasons, and instead just list engine displacement. I think I've found a value of 23.9 horsepower for that engine in that machine, but it's a bit sketchy.
What question are you really asking, though? The 'Cat with a low range and 24 horsepower is likely putting out more torque at the rear axle than the 18 Briggs and the T-20, but whether that power gets transferred to the ground is another issue. I have a 52hp (rated) Rotax in one of my Attex racers, but my 18hp flat briggs in my Hustler would tow that machine up a hill backwards in a pull-off. If anybody were to ask me which machine has more "power", the Attex does, hands down.
I'm not trying to shirk your question, just trying to get some clarity.....sigpic
