  • Outer axle flange ?s

I've seen a few pictures around here of outer bearing flange bolt/nut/washer setups. I'm curious if most folks run a lock washer under the outer bearing flange nuts. I saw there was a torque spec of I believe 32ftlbs for these nuts and wondered if that would hold true with a lock washer under the nut.

Curiosity has lead me searching this thought out on the good ole WWW. Im finding very low opinions of lockwashers. Seems that anytime you properly torque the nut that the lock will be completely flattened therefore making it a regular washer. There are some folks out there that are very into fasteners.

      lock washer = "broken washer"

Get some nylon locknuts, or some red locktite, or use a jam nut, or any combination of the three!!
