  • Idler sprocket replacement

3 of the 4 chain idlers seem very loose around the race. I washed a lot of rust out of them. These do not look like a very expensive part. They are 2 stampings riveted around the bearing. Should I plan to use the same or is there a better alternative?

That's a good question. Mine are actually starting to get a tad bit of slop in them too. I'm thinking the guys at Buffalo Bearing should be able to help you out with that. Give them a part number, and the number of teeth on the sprocket, ID, OD, and all the other info and they'd probably be able to locate some new ones at a good price.....those guys are good. Tell them you're from 6x6World and they take real good care of you. Their number is (716) 874-1720.

I bought some that are real sprockets with bearings pressed into the centers. They're a little pricey but I think they're made better.
