  • Trailer Hitches

I enjoy reading all the posts here. Too bad I am so far away (calif).

I am looking for trailer hitches. There are identical 2 hole patterns on the front and rear faces of the tub. I think they are the mounting location for the hitches. Is there a source for these or is this another item on the fab list?

Richard Clark probably has them, if you feel like paying an arm and a leg for them... If I can find mine I'll take a picture for you. I don't really know how you'd put one on the front though, the laterals are kindof in the way...

I never saw a Sidewinder or Hustler with a front hitch. It seems like it would get in the way when trail riding. As for the rear hitch, it would be very easy to make, but you could always post a wanted ad here on the site just in case someone might be parting a Hustler out.

As far as placement, I think there is room to come off under the center of the frame and under the laterals with a 3/8" plate. The plate would follow the tub face up another 8-10 inchs and serve as the inner mount reinforcement for an exterior hitch mount.

The tub has a two hole pattern and outline stain on the front and back. The only support appears to have been the tub which I do not think is robust enough for hitch loads.
