  • New Fixer Upper 950

So I picked up this from my brother, its a mid 70's model in somewhat rough shape. It has a jlo 440 snow machine motor 2 stroke and is loud as hell. there is a fuel problem it is either getting leaned out or flooded. There is a vacuum fuel pump and it has a bypass hose on it i think i need to plug that.

I think first on the list is:
    fix fuel problem
Exhaust(quiet) out the drivers side vent
replace idlers with nylon ones and line them up as well
    fix engine cover/rear seat
    clean up and paint.

That's not bad,I like the roll cage.I talked to a lady at an auto paint supplier about painting plastic,She said you can get a special primer in a spray can and an adhesive spray you spray on after the primer then put flex in your paint.I haven't tried it yet but it sounds good if it will help the paint stick.

i plan to swim a bit with this, but there look to be holes drilled in the rear tire wheel wells on the top of the wheel well. is this normal or does this need to be fixed?

Very nice starting point you have there. If I could only make a few suggestions. First, power wash the rest of that paint off of there and then leave it Brown. You mentioned swimming it and that would be the best way to cheek for damage to the hull and paint doesn't stick well to plastic hdpe unless specialty paints are used and applied perfectly they will scratch and flake as you have now. Second, you wanted to quite her down. Consider a four stroke swap. 18hp or more will do well in your rig and hush the noise. It will also make it a better trail machine. 2 strokes are great to go fast but are hard to go slow in. Third, read the site for more help AMD have fun with your new project.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

If it don't have 6 wheels and floats.. isn't any good to me. Have you ever tried floating a 4 wheeler across a pond... Doesn't work very well does it?
