  • AquaTorques on Max II

Yes, AquaTorques can fit with no mods on a Max II.

Used 3" spacers but 2" would be enough.

It looks good but you know my question is how do they swim? You need to get a well and start filling your pond up.

That will be up to Luke. He brought my old Max by to store for the winter. He has been curious to see if they would fit so I said "have at it". I think the older style Max will need a lot of work to support such a tire. But they do fit. I would think some other Max II guy can do some experimentation.

When I layed two Aqua Torque side by side next to a Max II I was almost postive that these tires were too tall and also too close together to each other to fit on a Max II. With some UHMW alxe spacers that Tim sells ,this would help the axle bracing issues from extending the Aqua Torque tires out for upper tub clearance. I think that the Aqua Torque tires will make a Max II more boyant in the water and swim dencent too. A 25" inch Mud Bug sure does on a Max II if you clearance the Tub. I really hope that you can shoot a water test video of these Aqua Torgues on the Max II. You said this tire skid steers easy, slings mud off well too, and if this tire swim decent, this would be the tire to have on a Max II I think. Because the Mud Bugs are no longer available for sale, the Aqua Torgue tire would be my choice for a mud tire if I owned a Max II.

I know Luke wants the tires so come spring we will see. They seem to fit, tight but fit. This is the Max I bought new in 95 so it would need a ton of upgrades. Luke is busy with his Cobra Mustang collection right now but in a couple months might be ready to get into 6x6 mode. I am just storing it in one of the old showrooms here at the shop that I am converting into a 6x6 work area for my 6x6 restorations to get them out of the shop area.

Are those mounted on Mudd-Ox or Argo wheels?

Argo rims. Have been running them on the Max IV and Hustler 980 with no air, Opsi with no problems.

The Aqua Torque tires would be awesome on your Max II.

Those Aqua Torques are just plain bad ass. I'm gonna have to get a set for my amphibs. I would have loved to see how they handled that tough mud at the Badlands. Maybe next time!

Well if someone does plan to run AquaTorques on a Max II It should be a model with splined axles. Also I would do a low gear 13 tooth mod to the T-20, leave the green spring in the secondary clutch and build a motor that will turn 5000RPM. Oh, and wear a kidney belt.

Just joined up here, guys. I've got an older Max II (late 90's? 14 HP Vanguard) I'm wanting to run the Aqua Torques, but my machine has 22-11-8 tires from the factory. The only Aqua's I've been able to find are the 25-12-9's. I've been told they'll fit; been told they won't fit. I see here that if I extend the axles out, that I'll have clearance from the tub. Not sure what the "tub clearance" method is though. Any guidance here? (I know I have to buy new rims for the tires if I go with the 25-12-9's) Thanks

You will may need to heat the tub up with a heat gun above some of the tires and push the body up and let it cool for clearance.

Makes sense now; with clearing the wheels. Thanks, Keith
