  • Max IV help-------

Hello all! I have finished my 70 Terra Tiger project and it came out pretty nice! Well, I've got the "6x6 bug" so I went out and purchased a 95 Max IV that needs some attention! Previous owners jury rigged the floor (installed plywood to accommodate a "custom" seat which I am removing as soon as I get off the computer! Is there anyone out there who can send a picture and show me what the floor looks like under the passenger seat? And if possible the proper routing of the throttle cable? I just placed an order from Route 6x6 so new cable will be here soon and am welding up new seat frames--old ones were butchered to allow for "custom" seating. THANKS for any help out there!

Nice work on the Terra Tiger, John. I know there are quite a few Max IV owners that could help you out. Just a heads up for the future......avoid Route6x6 and Richard Clark. You're just paying more for Max parts because he gets them directly from Recreatives and jacks up the price and puts on a very high shipping and "handling" charge. The folks at Recreatives are much more pleasant to deal with and they have the right answers since they build the machines. Glad to hear you caught 6X6 bug and your collection is growing. Keep up the good work.

You learn something new everyday on here. For all your future builds try either Recreatives, Surpluscenter.com, Buffalo Bearings, or the wanted ads here on the site and you'd be surprised how much money you can save rather than dealing with Richard Clark. There's even a place that relines clutch and brake material MUCH cheaper than anything Clark sells. They do the bands for T-20 transmissions for many member's here on the site. I can't think of the name off hand but I'm sure if you do a quick search of the site it'll pop up.

You mean he charged you a lot of money for a few dollars worth of clutch material glued to a cleaned cone cup. McMaster-Carr But I bet he was very nice while doing it.
I noticed that he has removed the price of them from his website...WHY?...is he embarrassed to advertise his high prices?

Hello and thanks for the offer! I was able to locate a pict of the floor from an add on Craigslist . The new throttle cable routing I made an educated guess on and it seems to be working fine. Too bad you're so far away from Sandstone MN--- we could hook up and do some 6x6 ing once I get this project back in shape. It's getting close--still need to rebuild the carb and correct some cobbled wiring and she should make it through the winter for ice fishing.

I'm curious, did you ever get any pictures of the floor or what it's supposed to look like? I bought an M4 a few days ago with only the foreward floor panel. Not sure yet if making one is an option or if I should go straight to RI for a new part. Thanks.
