  • Pics measurements of MAX IV engine mount PLZ.

    Hi,
I was wondering if you can help me out and post some pics of orignal engine mount cradle with measurements if possible. Just bought an old MAX IV and the engine cradle is missing. I've got a rough idea of the cradle in my mind from looking at the parts catalogue.
I'll post some pics up when I get chance.

    Cheers in advance,
    Charlie.
1, If it moves and it ain't suppose to use Duck tape.If it don't move and it's suppose to use WD40.

2, If it got tits or wheels it will cost you lots of money and grief.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a set up like a Max2 has, T20 mid body with the engine mounted low in the frame. The stock Max4 set-up has always seemed odd to me and the center of gravity is too high and the weight bias is too far to the rear. They climb well with the stock set up going forward but it gets scary if backing down any kind of a hill.

I was thinking about that after seeing the vids on youtube with that style set up. Only thing is I want to keep 4 seats, I've got 4 kids and losing the rear seat wouldn't get me the the vote for Dad of the year!

The trans can be moved to under the rear seat and the motor moved down. It will be tight, but it can be done.

Sounds good a good idea.I'm not entirely convinced though safety concerns arise. building safety grill/cage under the seats so no injuries occur. Quote " it can be done." I don't suppose it's been done already and there is a pic to give me an idea.

Whipper did that to his Max IV Springer. Here is one post in his build thread with some photos of the T20 relocation: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...html#post27736
